World Speed driver Kyle Kaiser started off his rookie season in the Pro Formula Mazda Championship by being the fastest car at the first official test day at Circuit of the Americas. By the end of the double header race weekend Kaiser had tallied two solid finishes that placed him sixth overall in the championship, and a mere four points outside of the third position.
“This weekend Kyle proved that he is in the right place in the Pro Mazda Championship, and we are proud to have him under our tent,” stated Team Owner Telo Stewart. “It was a good first weekend. Kyle really rose to the occasion, especially in the second race after the low-temp rev-limiter forced him to start the race dead last. He quickly passed about three cars before it went yellow. Once we were green again he kept the charge going getting up to fifth. He ended up finishing in a respectable 6th position.” In race one Kaiser started in 6th, and finished in 8th position.
Kaiser and the #18 Intervision/NetApp/Juniper Networks/Riverbed sponsored Pro Formula Mazda head to the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg next. Rounds three and four of the series take place March 23rd and 24th on the challenging Florida street course.
